Tennis in WA set for civil war amid calls for board sackings

A tennis civil war is set to erupt in WA after a number of clubs have called for the president of the sport’s State governing body to be axed just days after his board’s controversial decision to fire their award-winning chief executive.

The West Australian revealed last week Tennis West chief executive Brett Patten had been sacked after the board vote of no confidence, with the organisation admitting days later he was terminated because of reputational concerns over an “integrity investigation” where he was cleared of any wrongdoing.
