LOCAL SPORTS ROUNDUP: Vikings top Hurons to move to 2-0
POSEN — The Posen football team kept its offense rolling on Friday during a 56-14 win over Rogers City.
Ethan Romel had 192 yards and four touchdowns on 17 carries for Posen (2-0) and Jack Romel had 174 yards and three touchdowns on 24 carries for the Vikings, who racked up 486 yards of offense.
John Ennest added a touchdown and 50 yards on 11 carries.
On defense, Logan Timm had 11 solo tackles and four assists; Eli Chojnacki had seven solo tackles and four assists; Colton Paull had six solo tackles, two assists and two fumble recoveries and Jack Romel had six solo tackles, two assists and two interceptions.
Posen plays Hillman this week. Rogers City is 1-1 and plays Au Gres this week.

Alcona shines at Rau Invite
WEST BRANCH — The Alcona High cross country team had an impressive showing last week during the Rau Invitational, winning a first place plaque in its division and having three runners earn medals.
Cole Upper finished in first place (18:52.97) and Carter Upper was third (19:41.11). Darrin Boyat finished 10th (21:11.16) and Ziggy Villalobos was 13th (21:46.17). Colin McKenna finished 20th (22:42.88).
